Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.
The business lists hours on 4 days of the week. The most common schedule is 9 amβ3:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Rochester follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Haven't been to a dentist since I was a child, I'm 42 now. I have horrible anxiety especially involving anticipated pain and they were kind and patient with me. One of the assistants even held my hand when she saw i was getting anxious during my novicain. Going to have more work done with them and I can't wait to truly smile again.

The dental work is excellent, and the team is very professional. However, I have a serious complaint regarding your cancellation policy. I was informed that I must cancel 48 hours in advance or incur a fee. The problem is that no one can plan when they are going to get sick. I called to cancel because I was ill, yet I was still required to payβwhich essentially forced me to come into the office while sick, the very place where the dentist has to work directly inside my mouth. As healthcare professionals, you should be the first to understand that a sick patient should not attend a dental appointment. Doing so poses a risk to both the patient and the entire staff. The 48-hour policy may make sense for cancellations made for convenience, but there should be a clear exception for illness. I hope you will reconsider this, as a clinic of your caliber deserves a policy that lives up to its standards.

First appointment went alright but the second appointment with the actually dentist appeared to be passive aggressive towards me. While filling my cavity he began speaking in Spanish at times which didn't really bother me but then he literally said "It's all good in the hood." to his dental assistant and I noticed the shocked expression on her face like why would he even say that? Then also said "Just hang in there." about 3 times. I gave no reaction. I began to wonder if he says that to all of his patients or just the Black ones.

My first appointment went well, and I was informed that I needed to schedule another appointment to fill my cavity. However, when I informed the front office about this, they didnβt schedule the appointment for me. I left the appointment and they called me, informing me that I needed to schedule it. I did so over the phone while driving in a snowstorm! When my appointment finally came, I was severely ill. Who goes to their dentist appointment while sick? I couldnβt breathe out of my nose. When I called to reschedule, they informed me that I needed to let them know 48 hours in advance. Okay, understandable. So, I asked if I could call back and schedule another time. The woman on the phone told me that I was no longer a patient of theirs and that I couldnβt continue seeing them. Iβve never heard of such a ridiculous policy. They are disorganized and lack effective communication.

If you can avoid this office, you should. If you canβt avoid it because itβs the only place that takes your insurance, proceed with caution and make sure to advocate for yourself and ask as many questions as possible. I came in for my first cleaning around January of 2025. The dentist marked I had a couple of small cavities but told me we would βkeep an eye on themβ and see if they decrease or at least donβt grow much over the following few months. (Not how cavities work by the way but sadly I trusted him). I go back for my follow up cleaning 6 months later, beginning of July 2025. He then tells me the cavity has gotten worse and that I need to come in for a filling. He scheduled the filling for the following week. I returned a week later, and even though it has only been a week and itβs the same tooth and x-rays he reviewed several days prior, he tells me itβs too close to the root and he cannot operate on it and Iβll have to go to an endodontist for a root canal. Itβs almost as if he just addressed and filled the cavity in January when he noticed it, I wouldnβt be fighting for my life against a painful and expensive root canal that Iβm fighting to get. Eastman dental has a wait
